I don’t remember there being nut-free classrooms when I was young. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t a thing, but I did enjoy that dripping peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Fast forward and now it seems more and more people are having to avoid those delicious nibbles. This year in particular, we have many classrooms at all our sites that need to have nut-free classrooms to keep these students safe and I’ve been told by more than one family, “But a PB& J is all my child will eat!”
